Whether you have a product, service, hobby or passion, or just want to help raise funds or awareness for your favorite organization - you'll want to use video to reach the masses! How do you get started? The first thing to getting started is to have a desire to create video! The next thing is to find a camera you can use that will work for what you want it too. If you are going to do Internet marketing, I recommend starting with a $99 logitech webcam that has the YOUTUBE and email software that comes with the camera. It has a built in mic, which isn't always the best audio, but for closeup headshots, it's just fine. Next - GET USE TO SEEING AND HEARING YOURSELF ON CAMERA! Don't freak out when you see yourself. Or if you do, LEARN TO LIVE WITH IT - everyone else does! We are our own worst enemies! So, get over yourself and get on with your project! I know, that may of been kind of hard - I'm really a nice person - but I'm speaking from experience. I didn't like what I saw on camera, and I didn't let it stop me. I just went on and finally changed some of the bad habits, overweight issues that were bugging me. I'm still not perfect, still have issues, but I press through and onto the prize - whatever that is! Next, practice, practice, practice. Make a bunch of fun videos! Just talk to your sister, brother, mother, etc and send them a video. They will love it and you'll get lots of practice using the camera and software etc. Next, set yourself up a YOUTUBE site, and I also recommend getting a Justin.tv site also. Next, when you get your site up, create a video regarding your product, service, etc., and upload it. Next, do the SHARE thing on YOUTUBE...which means you'll have to sign up for all those things. DO IT! You need the exposure! Get signed up for ALL OF THEM. Get on TWITTER! It's key. Get on UTTERZ.com too! Get yourself some blogs. Get some sales pages - get FREE ones on this site www.blinkweb.com. You'll see it at the end of this page. OK, that's all you can handle for now. Everyone loves a good video?
Video makes us laugh, cry and can even make us want to purchase items. Life without video would be pretty boring! What did people do before TV, DVD's and movie theaters? I guess they entertained each other in person. Well, that the nice thing about TV, DVD's and Movies... Hundreds, even thousands of people can watch the same thing at the same time. That makes video so powerful of a medium. If you are marketing online and you are afraid of the camera or don't like to see yourself on the big screen - get over it! That is, unless you don't want to be effective in marketing. People want to see who they are doing business with! They want to know if you seem like an honest person. They want to know if you are a real person! They will buy based on what you tell them and by what the see and hear. So, get yourself a camera and start shooting! Until next time...
